Intermediate course is the second stage in CA curriculum. This is the first stage of CA curriculum wherein only working knowledge of the core and allied subjects to accountancy profession is covered, while at Final course, advanced application knowledge of the core and allied subjects to accountancy profession has been intended to be inculcated.
Eligibility:
- Candidates who have passed CA Foundation or erstwhile CPT
- Candidates who have passed Intermediate Course of ICSI (Institue of Company Secretaries of India) or ICAI (Institute of Cost Accountants of India)
- Candidates who are graduates / post graduates from any recognised university (incl. open university) with 55% marks by studying any three papers carrying a minimum of 50 marks in a semester/year and cumulatively 100 or more marks over the entire duration of the concerned course out of Accounting, Auditing, Mercantile Laws, CorporateLaws, Economics, Management (including Financial Management), Taxation (including Direct Tax Laws and IndirectTax Laws), Costing, Business Administration or Management Accounting or similar to the title of these papers withdifferent nomenclatures or other than those falling under Commerce stream having secured in aggregate a minimum of 60% of the total marks or its equivalent grade in the examination conducted by any recognized University (including Open University) are exempted from qualifying Foundation and are eligible for straight away registration to Intermediate Course and undergo ICITSS.
"With regards to 1 & 2 categories they can register for Intermediate Course and appear for Intermediate exams after 8 months of study period. However, for Category 3 candidates they should get registered for both Intermediate Course & Articleship (Practical Training); After completion of 9 months of practical training they are eligible to appear for Intermediate course exams."
Institute of Chartered Accountants of India had issued the study materials for the CA - INTEMEDIATE (NEW SYLLABUS) which was formerly called as IPCC / IPC under the old syllabus.
CA - INTERMEDIATE UNDER THE NEW SYLLABUS CONSISTS OF EIGHT PAPERS AND IT IS CONDUCTED FOR 800 MARKS.
PASSING CRITERIA:
40% Marks in each subject
Overall 50 % Marks in all subjects
